A Personal Note from Natalie Heffernan, breeder at Heffernan Hounds

Hi there!

I'm Natalie Heffernan, the breeder behind Heffernan Hounds in Visalia, CA. We deeply care for each of our mothers, fathers, and puppies to ensure they have the best lives possible. This includes selecting healthy parents with great temperaments, proper socialization, daily care, and ultimately placing our puppies in loving homes with caring individuals or families. Our goal at Heffernan Hounds is to provide a truly positive experience for our puppies and their new owners.

My Journey in Dog Breeding

I have been breeding dogs since 2010. I started with show-quality Golden Retrievers, who went on to earn multiple champion titles. Coming from a family of avid ethical dog breeders, I learned the importance of high standards and fell in love with breeding. Later, I developed a passion for Dachshunds. As I explored breeding Dachshunds, I got to know the breed so well that it became my true passion. I take my job seriously, continuously and relentlessly vetting the genetic makeup of my puppies' mothers and fathers to ensure I am not setting up an individual or family for lifelong health or temperamental issues. 

Building Lasting Connections

At Heffernan Hounds, we have available litters about every eight weeks, so be sure to check back for updates on our newest arrivals. I make it a priority to get to know my puppies' new owners, often before the puppies are even born. This helps ensure that our puppies go to loving homes where they will be cherished.
